Pioneertown

A high-desert stop centered on Mane Street's Old West facades, small businesses, and film-set history.

Mane Street itself is always accessible, but its businesses choose their own hours; weekends give the best chance of finding them open. Use a designated parking area rather than Pioneertown Road, and carry water because the compact walking route has little shade.

Why it made the guide

Film-set history and a walkable Western streetscape fit into less than a full day, leaving time to combine the stop with Joshua Tree or another high-desert destination.
